Literally translated as "Little Stabs" Sashiko refers to the running stitches used to create geometric motifs in this form of Japanese embroidery. In this workshop we will explore historic and contemporary uses of Sashiko, patterns and pattern meanings, review materials supplied and the reasons for use, and learn basic stitch techniques and transfer methods.
