DIRECTIONS // SYDNEY CRAFT WEEK 2017

Working Cloth textiles studio presented DIRECTIONS as part of the inaugural Sydney Craft Week, a multimedia exhibition in collaboration with composer and sound artist Alyx Dennison. The pieces created aligned with the philosophy and personal journey of the maker. They explored the binary created from traditional techniques paired with a contemporary aesthetic. In this, DIRECTIONS serves as a tangible reverence to generations of artisans who created culture and community from their craft, but also begins a new narrative, reflective of the maker and her beliefs, aesthetics and intent.
